The cloak incorporates innovations not found in other similar products.
Instead of polyester batting, the Origopro thermal cloak uses Climashield® Apex hollow-fiber filament insulation. Filament insulation does not require stitching, preventing cold bridges caused by needle holes.
- Multiple cloaks can be connected using universally compatible toothed zippers to form a tarp shelter or, with two cloaks, a three-person bivy bag.
- The aluminized polyurethane backing of the outer fabric reflects heat back and prevents detection by IR camera drones.
- Laser-cut corner attachment points from laminated 2-layer Cordura fabric replace stiff and heavy military-style equipment straps.
Possible uses include a tundra cloak, hunting blind, bivy bag, tent, lean-to, or sleeping bag cover.
