Origopro Long Range Scout jacket: the original break jacket with premium insulation

The Long Range Scout jacket  was developed to withstand Finland’s harshest conditions. Originally designed for Finnish special forces, this jacket has become a favorite among hunters, hikers, and reservists. It provides extreme warmth, is exceptionally lightweight (approx. $1\text{ kg}$/2XL size), and packs down small (fits into a $10\text{ L}$ stuff sack).

Two patterns, two uses

This versatile reversible jacket can be worn on either side:

• M05 Snow Camouflage: Helps you blend in with winter forest landscapes when hunting like grouse or lynx.
• Orange (Safety Color): A bright safety color that enhances visibility and security in the forest, making it perfect for moose hunting and stand hunting.

Military-grade warmth and safety

The Long Range Scout jacket utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure survival in severe conditions:

• Climashield Apex Insulation: The jacket features US-made Climashield® Apex (102 g/m2) polyester insulation, also used by the US military in their extreme cold weather gear. It offers unbeatable thermal insulation and excellent resistance to compression.
• Durable Construction: The outer fabric is carbon fiber-reinforced polyamide Ripstop (98% PA, 2% carbon), making it extremely durable for demanding conditions. The carbon fiber also prevents static electricity build-up.
• Long/Short Design: The jacket functions as a long model, protecting the thighs and legs. It can also be buttoned up to hip length, which facilitates movement during active use.

Details and history

The Long Range Scout jacket is the result of decades of experience, with development involving people like Major Heikki Siiropää back in the 1960s:

• M05 Pattern: Developed in collaboration between the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The fabric utilizes Infrared (IR) compatible colors that reflect the same waves as the Finnish forest, making identification difficult with IR devices.
• Karu Survival Tested: The jacket’s performance has been proven in field tests. Mikko Kettunen of Karu Survival survived a blizzard in Scotland with the added protection offered by the Sissitakki.
• Extra Customization: The front placket has a $30\text{ x }90\text{ mm}$ Velcro base for additional accessories.
