M05 Snow Camo and M05 Woodland Camo Reversible Lightweight but suitable for harsh Finnish winters
The cover material of the coat is a super light carbon fiber reinforced ripstop polyamide fabric. Climashield® Apex 3oz (110g / m2) has been used as insulation. The wadding is made of long filament fibers, as a result of which the insulation does not have to be stitched to the fabric. It could be sewn along edges to the seams with the cover fabric. When there is no stitch, there is also no needle hole, through which a wind and cold could pass. The same insulation is also used by the U.S. army in its sleeping bags and other extreme winter gear.
The weight of the old insulation was 130g / m2 and the CLO value was about 1.0. 3oz Climashield® Apex is 30% lighter (100g / m2) and CLO 2.4 (2.4 times more insulating).
The coat can be shortened to hip length with buttons or worn as a long coat.
The coat is made in three variation:
The SurRes, Survival & Rescue coat could be taken with you to travel and put on if needed. The M05 summer woodland pattern helps camouflage and the orange reverse side stands out from the surroundings. The background of the orange fabric has no polyurethane cover and is breathable. The woodland fabric has a very thin PU cover to provide protection from the rain. Both fabrics are finished with a water, dirt and oil repellent treatment.
The Long Range Patrol coat is M05 summer woodland camo printed on one side and M05 snow camo printed on the other side. The woodland pattern printed fabric has a light PU cover and the snow camo fabric is without polyurethane. Very versatile coat for winter season.
The Black / Ranger green jacket is a trial version for the Urban environment.
Fabric: Polyamide Ripstop 98% PA, 2% Carbon Insulation: Climashield® Apex 3oz / yd², 100g / m2 100% polyester, Clo rating: 0.024 CLO (gr / m²); 0.82 CLO (oz / yd²) = CLO 2.4
Eric S Schulz –
Hello,
I just received the Origopro Long Range jacket the other day delivered to the US.
I must say I am very pleased with it! It is the reversible pattern of M05 Winter Woodland Camo / M05 Snow Camo.
I plan to wear it as an outer garment while stationary deer hunting in cold weather with snow. I find the M05 Winter Woodland Camo pattern to work great in the bare winter woods even without snow. The light colors in the pattern give it a more 3 dimensional look than the solid type Summer Camo pattern
The M05 Snow Camo just makes you invisible in heavy snow country.
The outer shell is very soft and flexible but seems very wind resistant. There are buttons on both sides so that you could shorten the lenght by just folding it up and buttoning. There are also 2 waist height uninsulated pockets for gloves or whatever but they will not keep your hands warm.
The Climashield insulation is my favorite synthetic insulation and it is not quilted to avoid excess needle holes and drafts. Climashield is very sought after to those knowledgeable about synthetic insulation. There is only one manufacturer of sleeping bags in the US, Wiggys. Since 1985 they have only used Climashield which they private label as Lamilite.
I like my cold weather clothing very roomy for layering and using my rifle so I ordered the largest size available in this pattern combination, 3XL.
I am 5 foot 11 inches, 240 pounds, (180.34 CM, 108.86 Kg) very wide shoulders and big arms. The fit of the 3XL is very roomy. The length comes to about 6 inches from the ground, The sleeves are long enough so that they will not ride up when shouldering my rifle. The body had enough room to fit an extremely thick fleece beneath and still be very comfortable. The inside of the sleeves have enough diameter and the material so smooth that my arms do not bind or feel constricted.
Personally, I think I would prefer this in a 4XL but like I said earlier, I like my clothing very roomy. If ever offered in this size and pattern combination I will order it. Since this pattern combination is perfect for the coldest winter weather where layering may be needed, the largest size would be welcome.
Overall, I am extremely pleased. This is a warm, lightweight, easily packed insulated coverup. The camouflage is excellent. I look forward to using this jacket during the upcoming deer season. This is exactly what I’ve been searching for for the conditions I find myself.
Thanks so much!
