The Merino-Cordura knit is built to complement each other:

Against the skin: Merino wool (19 microns) feels soft and insulates heat. Since the knit has no prickly coarse fibers, it is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

On the surface: Cordura polyamide yarn gives the product exceptional abrasion resistance. Cordura is used in demanding conditions, such as workwear and motorcycle apparel, which guarantees a long service life for the product.

Merino wool is an ideal fiber directly against the skin, especially in layering.

Naturally Antibacterial and Odor-Repellent

Merino wool is naturally odorless. Its complex fiber structure and composition help bind odor molecules coming with sweat and release them slowly. Unlike synthetic fibers, merino wool does not create an optimal breeding ground for bacteria that cause bad odors. Because of this, merino wool base layers do not need frequent washing – often a simple airing out is enough.

Superior Thermoregulation

Merino wool is an exceptional thermal insulator. It binds heat produced by the body into microscopically small air pockets, thanks to which it warms effectively even in cold conditions.

Warmth Even When Wet

Wool can absorb moisture up to 30–40% of its own weight without feeling wet. When binding moisture, the fiber releases a small amount of heat, which keeps you feeling warm and dry. Merino wool effectively transfers moisture away from the skin, which prevents chilling.

Safe and Fire-Resistant Choice

Wool is naturally fire-resistant and does not melt.

• Cotton ignites at about 255 °C.

• Wool requires 570–600 °C to ignite.

• Synthetic fibers, such as polyester (melting point 252–292 °C) and nylon (160–260 °C), melt at low temperatures.

Because wool does not melt, it is a safe choice for professional use and workwear, as it cannot stick to the skin in heat.
