How does this differ from a standard M05 Snow Camo suit? This Ilves model is pure white without any grey camouflage prints. It is designed for environments with heavy “tykky” frost and pristine white snow, where even small dark spots can compromise your concealment. Even the zippers, drawstrings, and toggles are solid white to ensure a seamless silhouette.
Does the fabric glare or shine in the sun? No. We use a specially selected matte yarn to prevent glare. The fabric’s reflective properties match those of natural white snow, which is crucial for staying undetected during daytime hunting.
Is the fabric loud in sub-zero temperatures? No. The 70% Polyester / 30% Cotton blend is engineered to remain silent and soft even in extreme cold. Unlike many cheap synthetic materials, it does not rustle or make noise when you move.
What is the purpose of the crotch strap? The crotch strap (haararemmi) keeps the anorak in place and prevents it from riding up while crawling or wading through deep snow. It also prevents snow from entering under the jacket and helps maintain a consistent camouflage profile.
How should I choose the size? The anorak has a loose fit because it is designed to be worn over heavy winter layers (such as wool sweaters or insulated jackets). You should choose your regular size; the extra space needed for layering is already included in the design.
